17th Light Dragoons
My next unit is the 17th Light Dragoons. A small detachment of the 17th was sent South to serve with the British Legion under Banastre Tarleton. The 17th was given the option of trading in their regulation red uniform coats for the green of the British Legion, they did not, they clung to their red coats for the duration, but during the summer months they, and the BL work work smocks,or hunting shirts over their uniform coats and jackets. These figures are all Perry,2 different packs, one in the smocks, and one in the uniform coats.
All I need are the new Perry Tarleton Legion figures and I'll be set for my British cavalry.

Bbob, lovely stuff. I think the mix of the "full dress" and "campaign dress" figures works a treat.
I've admired this post several times now, so wanted to add my appreciation!
Best wishes

Well done again Bob. What are your thoughts on the use of the 17th during the war? Most gamers seem to play them as skirmishing cavalry especially in the south. I have thought they should be able to act as regular cavaly as well ie charge and skirmish.

I am new to the awi and have begun my blog upon it - yours really inspired me...
It was very comforting to see that it took some time until you got your first comments (which means your blog was read!) My blob hasnot yet got that far :-(
I really like the way you paint and arrange your units. Congratulations.
Bob,
Any updates?

en slacking in the painting department lately! I promise,I'll get back on the job!
I'm upset that the Perry's haven't released any new AWI figs. I honestly don't know what the attraction is to obscure Central/South American Wars?
